I began this project after I left university, when the second lockdown began. I was struggling to find the motivation to begin a new project, as usually I enjoy going out and using my surroundings as my main source of inspiration. I decided to focus on the way the 2nd lockdown was making myself, my friends and my family feel. I was sent images of the facial expressions people thought best presented how they had been feeling in the 2nd and 3rd lockdown. I used bright colours and a bold drawing style to contrast the disheartened, miserable and bored emotions that people had been feeling. By using these bright colours and beginning this project, I escaped the feelings of a miserable winter lockdown.
